Welcome to PreviewMonitor

Turn your iPhone into a wireless reference monitor for Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder.

Welcome to PreviewMonitor

PreviewMonitor turns your iPhone into a live reference monitor for your edit. It mirrors the program preview from Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Media Encoder straight to your phone over local Wi-Fi — so you can judge colour, framing, and motion on a real handheld screen while you work.

No capture card. No cables. No internet. Just your computer and your iPhone on the same Wi-Fi.

The two pieces

PreviewMonitor comes in two halves that talk to each other:

  • The desktop plugin — a plugin for your Mac or PC that hooks into Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder. It captures the program-monitor preview and streams it out. Windows is available now; macOS is coming soon.
  • The iPhone app — the receiver. It finds your computer on the network, shows the live picture, and gives you a HUD, social safe-zone overlays, transport controls, and more.

Install the plugin, open the app, tap your computer, and you're streaming.

Two ways to preview

  • Live streaming — mirror your computer's program monitor to your iPhone in real time over Wi-Fi.
  • Monitor a Clip — load a local video or photo on your phone and preview it with the same zoom, frame-stepping, and overlay tools, with no computer needed.

Next steps

New here? Start with these two pages:

  1. Install & enable the plugin — download the plugin and switch it on in Premiere Pro or After Effects.
  2. Connect your iPhone — get your phone and computer talking over Wi-Fi.

Once you're streaming, explore the features or jump to troubleshooting if something isn't working.
